Worse On PS3(TM) - Lost Planet has "a less stable framerate and lower texture quality"
Obviously we take no pleasure in reporting that Lost Planet is worse on PlayStation3.
The fact that a new PS3 version of a year-old Xbox 360 game has a lower framerate, less detail and quite a few glitches is rather a sad state of affairs, really. We are definitely not smiling and giggling while typing this.
Here's how 1Up described the shameful differences between PS3 Lost Planet and the Xbox 360 game:
"There are downsides to this largess, though, which mostly look to come in the form of a less stable framerate and lower texture quality than the Xbox 360 release."
1Up also moaned that the rubbish and soon-to-be-obsolete SIXAXIS controller is too sensitive and makes it harder to aim accurately - so the game is tougher and less enjoyable to play. Plus, of course, there's no rumble in the PS3 version. Unless you've imported some proper controllers from Japan.
Such a shame. Such a terrible, terrible shame. On the plus side, PS3 Lost Planet does come with the extra downloadable maps Xbox 360 owners had to pay for (but were later released for free) included on the disc.
That's the power of Blu-ray for you! Shame PS3 hasn't got the power to match Xbox 360 circa 2007.
